ARCADIA, Calif. — Ever run a race from a genuine racetrack starting gate?
More than 5500 runners and walkers did just that on Saturday, in the 2014 Santa Anita Derby Day 5K running race at Santa Anita Park.
Aaron Sharp, of Port Hueneme, bested his own race record from last year, turning in a time of 15:01 and Ashley Ramirez of Oxnard took the women’s title in 17:48. For results go Kinane Events.
